The Archives, accessible through a page on this website or a playlist on the channel page, contains the 18 videos that aren't publicly displayed. It contains a multitude of videos that either never made it to, or have been removed from, the public eye. And for the record, all but one of these was made before Arjun and I began working together. So blame all of this on me, if you wish.
The first two are 'Impossible Ski Resort Trivia' and 'Asking AI Impossible Ski Resort Questions.' Both of those were made in fall 2023, and while they were both very fun to make, the editing on them just doesn't cut it today. The trivia video was just a friend (unassociated w/ the channel) and I, and we only recorded audio. And because I didn't have much time, the editing on that... well, it was just an uncut video of me skiing in Sun Valley. And beyond just that, IT WAS A GREEN. So needless to say, I'm disappointed with myself for how that video came out. The AI video is a similar story.
Next up is 'Let's Talk About Skiing in Europe.' This was one of the most viewed videos on SRG Skiing, and was by far the biggest money-maker. But the viewers made it very clear that not only was my video not suitable to discuss all of Europe, but it was also almost entirely inaccurate. I made that video after a single ski trip to Europe. It was a mistake. So I fixed it, using all of the comments, a bunch of additional research, and combing through old footage. When I publicized the new video, this one went to The Archives, as one of the most successful failures in SRG Skiing history.
Next is an old channel trailer, that was made when I didn't have nearly as good of editing skills. And as such, I didn't want the public seeing it, simple enough.
After that is a solid video of me skiing Corbet's Couloir. It is the easy entrance, however, and not the most technically sound, so I don't want the entire public getting ahold of it. It's a cool video that I backed up to YouTube, but that's the full extent of it.
Then we've got 'This is ShangRei Garrett,' which is one of my most embarrassing videos ever. I made it out of a pure, white-hot rage, combined with a little bit of jealousy, which in itself is one helluva drug. So if you want to see an ugly side of SRG Skiing, watch that. But you've been warned.
After that are a pair of BTS editing videos. In all honesty, I thought the audience would be interested, but I vastly overestimated my own popularity. These were before we had a full production process, and before we really focused on increasing the videos' production quality overall. AND, my editing is a lot better now. So these videos... they're just not very representative of what ACTUALLY goes on behind the scenes. And as such, have been removed from public view, but they're cool looks into the development of SRG Skiing over time.
Then, we have the 5 channel intros. I think it's pretty obvious why these were never published publicly, but for those of you who were a fan of the old intros, you can still revisit them there. Don't worry, they'll still show up in videos here and there as well.
After that is the 2-part Lift Projects Breakdown. And this, once again, is an example of a video that I thought was cool both before and during production, but was rather disappointed with once it was down. They just didn't live up to my standard at the time, much less to right now's standards. Which lands them here.
Next down the list is one of our biggest recent videos. In all honesty, it's about 10% clickbait, 40% facts, and 50% inferences. It was big news when it broke, but I feel a little bit guilty about the clickbait-ness of the video. It's not clickbait to the level of other particular skiing "YouTubers" (I am NOT referring to PeakRankings), but I still felt bad about it. It exploded in the first week, so from a business standpoint, I just had to keep it up. But after that, it has declined and was hardly getting any views a month later, so it was time to pull the plug and clear my conscience, along with the fact that it has now become old news.
And finally, we have the two Insider's Guide to State Parks of summer 2023. I thought these were a cool concept, but I don't think a single person actually used them. And they got no views throughout this past summer. So there was no need to keep them up, and hiding them reinstates our status as a ski-only channel, which is not only good for my OCD, but also for our public image.

Otherwise, that's about all for now. I'll talk again soon, and Arjun will be on here to write his thoughts on something soon. Until then, all my love, and I'm out.
